slowly, experiencing each part.
Sit in a comfortable position with your hands in your lap. Close your eyes during the breathing exercise. Begin by releasing the tension in your body. Allow your lips to part slightly, relax your tongue and the muscles around your lips. Swallow a few times to relax any tension in your throat. Take a deep breath and exhale through your mouth, sighing as you do. Continue in this way for a few minutes. Then move your attention slowly down through your body, inviting each part of yourself to relax. When you feel settled in your body, draw
your attention back to your breath. Breathe in your natural breathing
pattern and listen to the sound of your breath. Feel the sensation of
the incoming and outgoing breath. Follow each breath as it changes from
moment to moment. Continue this process until you feel peaceful. |
